From Childhood Friends to Lifelong Love:

         The Story of Kevin and Kim In the heart of a small town, where the days seemed to stretch endlessly and the summers were filled with laughter, two young children began a friendship that would blossom into a lifelong love. Kevin and Kim's story is one of enduring affection and a deep connection that grew from the innocence of childhood into the profound bond of marriage.

          Kevin and Kim first crossed paths at the tender age of five. Their meeting was as simple as it was serendipitous shared playground, a mutual love of adventure, and an instant, unspoken understanding. They spent countless afternoons playing together, their laughter echoing through the neighborhood as they explored the world with boundless curiosity.

                 As the years passed, their friendship deepened. From elementary school games to high school dances, Kevin and Kim were inseparable. They supported each other through the ups and downs of adolescence, their bond growing stronger with each shared experience. It was clear to those around them that their connection was special, transcending the usual bounds of childhood friendships.

               By the time they reached their teenage years, what had once been a pure, innocent friendship began to evolve into something more profound. The playful glances and casual touches turned into something that felt remarkably like love. Kevin and Kim found themselves drawn to each other in a way that went beyond friendship, and they realized that the person they had always been closest to was also the one they wanted to be with forever.

            Their transition from friends to partners was seamless. They navigated the complexities of young adulthood together, their relationship maturing as they grew. Their shared history and understanding of each other made their bond resilient and deep. In 1992, surrounded by friends and family who had witnessed their journey from the beginning, Kevin and Kim took the step that cemented their lifelong commitment they were married.

Their wedding day was a celebration of not just their union but of a love that had been nurtured over decades. The ceremony was filled with joy and nostalgia, as their shared past became a beautiful backdrop to the vows they exchanged. It was a day that honored their journey from childhood friends to devoted partners, a testament to the strength of a love that had grown and endured. 

         Since their marriage, Kevin and Kim have built a life together filled with cherished memories and shared dreams. Their relationship, rooted in years of friendship and mutual respect, has been a source of strength and happiness. They have weathered life's challenges and celebrated its joys, always with the understanding and companionship that first brought them together. 

        Their story is a beautiful reminder that love can grow from the most innocent beginnings into something profound and lasting. Kevin and Kim's journey from childhood friends to lifelong partners is a testament to the power of true connection and the magic of finding the love of a lifetime in someone who has been by your side from the very start.               

          Today, as they look back on their decades together, Kevin and Kim continue to cherish the bond they have nurtured and the love that has been a constant source of joy and strength in their lives. Their story is a celebration of enduring love and the beautiful journey from friendship to a lifetime of togetherness.  

About Our Ministry Journey:

For over 3 decades, Pastors Kevin and Kim have walked a path of ministry and have spent their lives serving God and people. Kim Jones When something looks nice, you can expect her to tell you that it's "Picasso!" She's an author, her grandkids love to call her "Yaya", Mom, her crafting supplies suggest that she's skilled in every craft known to mankind, she will teach you a lesson in Call of Duty and Halo, and this woman can cook! Kim was practically born in church and nearly came out of the womb with a Bible; she has been a Christian almost her entire life, serving and loving God and people. She was raised in a small, loving Assembly of God Church with her parents and younger siblings. In this setting the Pastor and his wife were familiar with everyone, the congregation was very close to each other, and they all met regularly, because they loved each other. They would check on each other and drop in on each other, just to be kind. After church service, it was normal to go to the Pastor's house and hang out for a few hours. Her experiences in that little Assembly of God church would serve as a catalyst for how she would minister for the rest of her life. Pastor Kim is best described as fearless and full of mercy; she has frequently been found reaching out to some of the hardest, most difficult, and sometimes most dangerous people, because as she explains, no one else will reach out to them. She feels like the mercy God has shown her must be extended toward others, as a result of her actions, many have experienced the love and tenderness of God's goodness as they have repented and found salvation. In truth, Pastor Kim loves to love people. She has always dreamed of a family church, like that little Assembly of God church back home, a place where everyone feels at home, regardless of where they've come from, a place where they're known, loved, and appreciated for who they are. She has worked tirelessly to help create a place where people can come each week and experience the love of God, the presence of God, and feel God's love through other people. Pastor Kim has worked in Youth Ministry, Children's Ministry, Worship Ministry, Nursery, led a girl's only class study, she is a web designer and graphic artist, she is a media, video, and audio technician (often all at once). And she helps Pastor our congregation wonderfully! On October 21, 2022 she published her first book, "When Rag Dolls Cry" available on Amazon or anywhere fine ebooks are sold. Kevin Jones He's never met a pie he doesn't like. or so he likes to tell everyone. When he can force himself to sit down, he does likes to whittle, or pretend he's half as good at Call of Duty as Pastor Kim, he loves to read, his grandkids call him Opa, and he's a proud Dad. He gets paid to look for parts at a local diesel shop; most of which are obsolete or discontinued. Kevin was saved at the age of 12 and started ministry at the age of 16, leading worship at a local Baptist Church which had just experienced a Holy Spirit revival and they weren't sure what to do with themselves. It wasn't long before Kevin was ministering over at the Assembly of God church with Kim. Not long afterwards they were married and over the next 30 years they would serve in numerous capacities together, recording music together, traveling all over for various engagements, sharing the gospel, opening conferences for Dutch Sheets and Kim Clement, ministering to homeless people on the streets, reaching at risk people. It was during this time that Kevin attended Bible College, but they still weren't finding what they had hoped for all those years… something like that old Assembly of God church had provided them. Where was the deep love and tender affection - where was the family atmosphere? So, in 2014 Kevin and Kim planted Connection Church and have been the happiest together in ministry they've ever been! It feels like home, because it is home.
